Meet the Team

Steps Dance School Teachers come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Each one is qualified in their dance style and participates in weekly ongoing teacher training. Our younger teachers are Steps Dance School trained, learning teaching techniques and developing expertise alongside experienced teachers before teaching classes of their own. Our assistants play a big role in mentoring younger students while learning teaching skills. Our amazing Steps Staff is extremely important in keeping everything and everyone organized while being ready to assist dancers and parents. Meet the Steps Teachers and Staff who have a deep love for dance and teaching others!

“I assist with dance classes because it is my passion. Dance has been a place where I can lift my mood, be happy, make lasting friendships, and have fun. It has given me inspiration and confidence. These lessons are what I want to share with the younger generations when I assist.”

“I teach because I want to help build a boy’s program. Being a boy dancer is hard, and I want boys to know it’s ok to be in dance and be a boy. I want boy dancers to feel like they belong.”

“I teach because I believe in growth and in helping others become just a little bit better every single day. Here at the studio, we saw a need to step up the performance level. With my drama background, I can help with this. I love teaching character and watching students develop into true performers. The growth of our performers in the past year is inspiring, and I want to continue to help our performers grow.”

“I teach because I want the young dancers to have a passion for dance like I do, and continue that passion into their adult lives. When I dance, I feel comfortable and able to express myself, I want the dancers to feel the same way. I encourage all my dancers to be confident and express themselves through any type of dance.”
Lori Nieman

“My daughters love for dance is what brought us to the studio but after 13 years of watching Sabrina teach and spread her knowledge and love for the art of dance, I knew I wanted to get more involved. Then I was blessed with the opportunity to work in the office. I love being part of this dance school and getting to know all of the dancers, their parents and families.”

“I teach because I want to make a lasting impression on those I come in contact with. I know the impact my dance teachers has on me when I was young, and I want to be that role model for the next generation. I want to teach them more than dance steps and counts, but to be disciplined and confident in order for them to be successful in whatever they choose to do in life.”
Sabrina Rishel

“Dance provided me with unlimited opportunities to learn and grow. It has played an important part in shaping who I am today. I have learned that there is more to dance than just learning and perfecting the steps. I teach in hopes of motivating and inspiring students to become their best selves, to continually challenge themselves, and to make a difference in the world.”

“I assist with classes because I want to teach and help people learn to dance. I want kids to love going to dance and being in the class like I did when I was younger. “I teach because dance is something unique that you can make your own. Dance is where I have learned to express myself and be pushed out of my comfort zone. Because of this, my goal as a teacher is to help the dancers learn to express themselves, and grow. Each dancer has their own goals and I want to help them reach those goals.”
